Job Overview

At Scalvy, we are building intelligent, data-driven systems that power next-generation engineering and industrial solutions. As a Senior / Principal BMS Engineer, you will lead the design, architecture, and development of advanced battery management systems for high-performance energy storage and electrified platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop BMS hardware/software architectures including sensing, protection, and control
  • Develop and implement algorithms for SOC, SOH, SOF estimation and cell balancing
  • Define and validate battery safety strategies including fault detection and protection
  • Collaborate with power electronics and firmware teams for system integration
  • Support battery pack design, testing, and validation
  • Ensure compliance with functional safety and regulatory standards (ISO 26262)

Strategic Responsibilities

  • Guide BMS architecture roadmap and platform scalability decisions
  • Evaluate new battery technologies, ICs, and sensing solutions
  • Mentor and develop junior and mid-level engineers

Must-Have Requirements

  • Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
  • 5–9 years of experience in BMS or battery systems development
  • Strong expertise in battery management systems and lithium-ion battery technologies
  • Experience with SOC/SOH estimation algorithms and battery modeling
  • Solid understanding of battery safety, protection, and thermal management
  • Experience with BMS communication protocols (CAN, SPI, etc.)

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with automotive or energy storage applications (EV, BESS)
  • Familiarity with ISO 26262 and ASPICE processes
  • Knowledge of cell balancing techniques and advanced diagnostics
